A young boy's imagined school trip makes the real trip look mundane.

The kids have to perform in the talent show just because mean Mrs. Green says so! Everyone will have to show a talent for exactly one minute - in front of the whole school and their parents! Starring in the talent show from the Black Lagoon would give any kid stage fright - but with a little luck this performance might just turn out to be fun!

Mean Mrs. Green says that everyone has to invent something for the school science fair. But everyone would rather invent a way to get out of it! Hubie can't decide on what he's going to do. He thinks all the good inventions have been done already. And all of his friends have figured out what they are going to do. He tries to decide between cloning himself or building a laugh machine. After a bad dream about cloning, he decides to build a laugh machine....

Every class has to come up with an idea for a booth at the school carnival. Too bad your class has chosen your idea: a dunking booth and they want you to be the one who gets dunked!

Love strikes in the Black Lagoon! Everyone has to make a card for Valentine's Day. And even worse you have to give it to someone in your class. Plus, you can't draw a green-colored square or a dinosaur. You must draw a pink or red heart or a cupid. Yuck! You'd rather eat worms! And you know how it goes: First you give a Valentine card and the next thing you know, you're married! You're just not ready for this!

For Hubie, preparing for school is worse than actually going to class -- his mother picks out all the wrong clothes, he endures anxiety-provoking visits to the doctor and dentist, and there are rumors about a new teacher who is worse than any other.

It's spring and Hubie's class is having a dance. Everyone has to go and everyone has to dance--with girls--but Hubie has two left feet and all the wrong moves. Plus his dance teacher is the size of a football player. Will Hubie sweep his partner off her feet, or will he end up flat on his face?

Hubie has planned a fantastic party for his birthday. There's only one problem- he didn't know it was on Friday the 13th. Now that's bad luck! What if nobody shows up? What if nobody brings presents? Hubie better wish for some good luck!

When Mrs. Green announces that Friday is class picture day, Hubie spends the rest of the week worrying about how he will look and practicing poses.

Hubie is being sent far away to summer camp and he can't even bring his TV or computer. But there's plenty for him to do there, like avoiding the snakes in the lake. Will Hubie survive his "vacation"?
